Fair Trade Ethical square coasters, with felt for grip underneath, in a box made of papier mache and beautifully hand painted in an elegant design on blue. The coasters, made of wood, are finely matched to the box, making a great feature item on your coffee table, dining table or kitchen bench top. Able to withstand extremely hot beverages, these coasters are a great gift idea that will make a bold statement in your living, dining room or kitchen.
From recycled, sustainable paper and paste the Artisans beat, grind and shape the pulp mixture (sakhta) onto a wooden mould. Shaping with a smoothening tool into a box it is then left to dry. Once dried it is cut, mould taken away and smoothened out for a cleaner finish. Then it’s painted a base colour then carefully painted its artistic design, and finally finished with a safe, synthetic, unleaded varnish.
